I was hoping to move to signal in the whatapp network. Unfortunately in Brazil you cannot live without whatapp.

My wife told me to fuck off when I installed signal on her phone 😔

A girl did something like this in brazil but with nudes. She got really popular after she posted videos on tik tok and got sued by the government for advertising porn and then got even more popular.

She put fliers like the one OP posted, made tik tok videos putting the fliers and got really popular. Some government agency saw that and sued her for doing advertising of sex services, newspapers reported about it and got even more popular. At some point on the story she paid for big billboards too.

A screen for the OG tik tok that made her famous: https://lemmy.eco.br/pictrs/image/d3904e12-918e-487f-b729-15c5f00bcb5c.webp

There’s a lot of women putting fliers on the street advertising their only fan?

I did a lot of web scrapping this week at work and it’s looks like that character is used a lot on XPaths and CSS selectors. I only noticed it because VS Code put a yellow box around the character and give you a warning that that character is not a whitespace.

What is the ideology behind private trackers?

Private trackers are well known for their elitist and insufferable users. I’d like to know the reasons behind their gatekeeping. Is it just mere elitism to feel superior or are there any other reasons? I’ve heard people saying they like to have a smaller number of high quality users for long term stability. I’ve even heard...

I used to visit an specialized private tracker that went offline, deli.sh, it’s had only food content, like video courses and a lot of books. Everything had at least a couple of seeders, so even that ultra rare French language pastry book was available to download. My girlfriend, now wife, was on cooking academy and I downloaded a lot of books and courses for her that would be unavailable anywhere else on the internet. I don’t think you can really have that kind of collection on a public tracker.

Is It Worth The Time? XKCD 1205 updated for open source and shared tools. (lemmy.world)

People often ask why I contribute to open source projects or otherwise work on building automated tooling. They see me spending hours to automate a task or fix a bug that take seconds to do or avoid manually, in a way that the original XKCD comic says won’t pay off. The disconnect seems to be that the comic and those people...

I work on business intelligence, and part of my job is automatize processes, like comercial team updates excel files and those updates needs to be updated on the database so the dashboards show the latest version. I could do the update manually, but I don’t like do that and wrote a python script that do that for me.

Looking specifically for Rigo that is being aired at the moment.

Idk how to use those streaming services. They never work with ad blocker and JavaScript blockers and without them it just a bunch of ads and the video never starts.

I used to work as an assistant editor for Fox Channel in Argentina many many years ago. And there was this trailer for a star trek movie that had the name on text of the crew on the trailer and the scriptwriter wrote “Zulu” instead of Sulu in the script (my knowledge about star trek is limited to the memes of this community) so I complied and wrote Zulu on the trailer. Nobody else notice and was aired like that. the next day it aired some guy I have never seen on my life entered my island with my producer and the screenwriter and the guy was furious, asking me why I wrote the name wrong and telling me that they had been receiving calls from all latinamerica saying thay we were fucking stupid and had to pull off the trailer from air. I show him the script as it came to me in the email and the screenwriter facepalmed in shame. They asked me to correct the name and re send the traileds asap. After thay I learned thay the guy was like the director of costumers relationship and the poor screenwriter was demoted and transferred to write the trailer of the cooking channel.

I was in a club and had to open an account to open a tab, they asked me for my government number ID, pretty standard, but then they started asking for phone number, age, email, Instagram account and I was like wtf, I just want a bottle of water!

driving_crooner,
@driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br avatar

It’s in Brazil and is pretty standard. There’s different IDs here, the most common one is called CPF and is used for financial transactions, is the number that identify you with the tax agency. In some things you can denied it, like in the pharmacy, but in other ones not, like buying a TV or car.

I prefer the first seasons that they didn’t take the show too seriously. The last ones (or last one?) Was way too dense, with episodes way too long that got be bored at half episode every time.
